Performance during a fire
Fire resistant cables are recommended for use in installations that must keep working during a fire. Using these cables in important alarm, control, signal and power supply systems means you can guarantee they will not be taken down, even if the fire reaches the cables themselves.
No gases, little smoke
As well as continuing to work during and after a fire, Nexans fire resistant cables are halogen free so they do not give off any toxic or corrosive gases, and only small amounts of smoke, if there is a fire. Studies show that this can save lives and money.
Examples of systems that must keep working during a fire include signal and safety systems guiding people out of the building. Other examples are smoke extraction fans and lifts.
