Nexans main supplier to the Swedish Transport Administration
3 years metal cable contract with a value of SEK 140 million
Grimsås 2013-10-11 – The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has chosen Nexans as the main supplier of cables for their ongoing needs for the period 2014-2016, with a possible extension during 2017-2018. The value of the contract is estimated to SEK 140 million during the first three years.
- We have chosen Nexans as our main supplier because they have quoted the overall most economically advantageous solution, says Mattias Häggström, Purchasing Manager at Trafikverket.
Nexans has for many years been a major supplier of cable solutions for railways, both in Sweden and internationally. The agreement with Trafikverket confirms Nexans' position as a leading railway provider.
- We see this agreement as the beginning of a long- term partnership, where we together with Trafikverket contribute to the development of a modern Swedish infrastructure, says Rick Johansson, Sales and Marketing Director for Telecom & Projects at Nexans Sweden AB.
The agreement includes telecommunication cables, control cables and network cables produced in the Nexans plant in Grimsås, Sweden. Parts of the electricity cable needs will also be manufactured in the Nexans plant in Norwegian Namsos. Delivery start is 1 January 2014.
