What is Nexans EASYCALC™?

Nexans EASYCALC™ is a reliable cable section calculation program. Our free tool is designed for electricians, consultants, installers, engineers, etc., and allows you to easily calculate with the most optimal choice of cable area and type for your project.

An accurate cable calculation takes into account the correction factors applicable to the installation. Nexans EASYCALC™ does this as well. Fill in basic information in 4 simple steps and let Nexans EASYCALC™ do the job.

The result of the calculation is the theoretical cross-section that can carry the requested current without the risk of overloading (overheating) of the cable itself. Additionally, legislation must be applied, which may prescribe stricter conditions for protective devices, for example.

Nexans EASYCALC™ can be used for installation and power cables up to 1kV.

How to use Nexans EASYCALC ™ ?

Nexans EASYCALC™ requests basic information and applies relevant correction factors.

• Provide basic conditions: current intensity or power in kVA or kilowatts, cable length, voltage type - 230 or 400 volts, direct current or alternating current, and the number of phases.
• Select the desired cable type from the list and choose the construction: specify if you need a grounding and/or neutral conductor.
• Provide installation information: above ground or underground, together or separately, installation temperature, etc.
• Display the result and print it out to save with your files.

We aim to make it easy for you. Nexans EASYCALC™ is free of charge and available on our website and in our Nexans app.

As an installer it’s sometimes difficult to gather data on the entire environmental factors of an installation. For example, you don’t always know the exact cosine φ or ambient temperature. In that case EASYCALC™ uses the default values from the standards. With each result, Nexans EASYCALC™ also recapitulates what values it has used to calculate. This allows you to test a few variants and thus also keep a clear trace of your section determination afterwards.

Is EASYCALC™ free-of-charge?

Yes! Nexans EASYCALC™ is completely free of charge. We want to make your everyday life easier. EASYCALC™ is available to you wherever you are - through the Nexans app and Nexans.se.
