Micke from Sandviken ditched FXQ – fell head over heels for MXQ Easy.
Oct 21, 2025
Hey Micke! What are you up to?
Hey! I’m looking for a drill and installing some downlights with your lovely FQQ Easy LED.
Of course you are. But hey, I actually want to talk about another cable. What made you fall for MXQ Easy?
It all started with something completely different on LinkedIn that got people from all over Sweden reaching out to me. Suddenly, there was this full-on cable discussion, and bam – I found myself holding Nexans MXQ Easy in my hand.
And once you had it in your hand – what was your first thought?
Time to start installing EV chargers like there’s no tomorrow.
Name: Micke Svahn
Title: Electrician
Company: Elinstallatören Sandviken AB
Number of employees: 2
Years as an electrician: Started with work experience at 13 in my handball coach’s electrical company. At 14, I got a summer job as an electrician – and I’ve never stopped since (I’m 41 now). My teacher and my boss made sure I finished school while working.
Education: Electrical program in Gävle
Instagram: @elinstallatoren

Sounds like an action movie. How did it play out in real life?
Brilliant. The cable turned out to be incredibly easy to work with. It didn’t twist like so many others do when pulling – none of that here. It straightened out nicely, made beautiful bends with decent bend memory, and didn’t kink or break. The result? A super clean installation.
Nice! Anything else you like about it?
It’s super easy to strip – both the outer and inner parts. And it’s just as smooth to pull indoors, outdoors, and through conduits.
Sounds like a glowing review. Would you recommend it?
Absolutely. Any day of the week.
And if you had to describe it like a co-worker – for someone looking to “hire” MXQ Easy?
Haha! Smooth and easygoing with massive added value.
Not bad. Sure, a human is about 60% water, but MXQ Easy... is more like 33% recycled copper. What’s your take on the sustainability angle?
Yeah, sustainability has become more of a thing lately. I’ve started seeing it more in tenders and in products from suppliers. I don’t think about it a ton, but of course I think it’s a good thing. I feel confident Nexans has that part covered.
Solid answer. But someone who’s not thrilled is FXQ Easy, now being replaced by MXQ Easy. Any parting words for the old workhorse?
Yeah – thanks for the years and the price tag, especially. But your successor is just so much easier to work with, so... I won’t be missing you.
That’s a wrap. Thanks for taking a few minutes, Micke. Good luck with the downlights – and extra props to your handball coach, teacher, and boss. What a story about how you got into the trade!
